Welcome to Jay's Personal Website!
I am now a PhD candidate at the University of Bristol Business School. My PhD dissertation focuses on understanding the effects of artificial intelligence and algorithmic decision-making in the financial markets. I am trying to understand these effects via Robo-Advising, a welfare-improving financial technology.
With strong interests in utilising cutting-edge and interdisciplinary research methods (including but not limited to econometrics, experiments, machine learning, LLMs), I work on topics spanning a broad literature in household finance, behavioural finance, behavioural asset pricing, and market microstructure.
Committing to sharing Chinese stories worldwide and building more inclusive communities, I currently also take roles like Finance PGR Student Rep, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Don Lavoie Fellow in Political Economy, research consultant at WorldQuant Brain (UK), Student Quality Reviewer, member of the University Research Ethics Committee, and affiliated member of the Bristol Digital Future Institute.
I work closely with business leaders like Alibaba and Ant Group, financial institutions like E Fund, and financial authorities like the Central Bank of Ireland. I enjoyed talking with regulatory or industrial experts every time.
